paper planes
M.I.A. Paper Planes – performing a song with type was the objective of this experiment. The shape of a paper plane, consists of eight pages, one verse of the song on each side. When folding the pages, a paper plane is created, just like the song where all verses together make it sound. Based on the lyrics of the song, the design of the object and the deformation of the single glyphs turning into small illustrations are designed by me.

Experimenting with typography, the development of an alphabet out of geometrical shapes, transformation and deformation of glyphs – the zine created from my works of the typography course, summarizes an experimental approach to type.
